With a nod to Hal Ashby and the character-driven comedies of the 70’s, The Discoverers is a road movie about a dysfunctional family forced to face the past and embark on an unexpected journey to understand themselves and each other. Written and directed by Justin Schwarz, produced by Quadratic Media, photographed in Pennsylvania and Oregon, currently in post-production.
Accolades include selection for the Hampton's International Film Festival Screenwriter's Lab and IFP's No Borders Coproduction Market. Learn more about our talented cast and creative team on the film's website or IMDB.

Quadratic Media is a partnership between Laura Kleger and Justin Schwarz and the creative people who excite and inspire us. Laura and Justin first teamed up to form an indie rock band in college and have been collaborating together ever since. As consultants, we’ve worked with clients including the Guggenheim Museum, Scripps Networks Interactive, Epson America, Wiley Publishing, Participant Productions, Fund.com, UCLA, and The City of New York.
We both graduated with honors from Yale, received MFAs from Columbia University, and have shared our expertise as university professors, film festival programmers, book editors, and exhibition curators. Our work has won numerous awards, and shown internationally at venues including the Museum of Modern Art, Cannes Film Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, High Desert Test Sites, and The Contemporary Arts Center (Cincinatti, Ohio).
We're inspired by creative pioneers who push the boundaries of their practice. We'd love to share our inspirations, artistic exchanges, cultural happenings, and visionary projects with you via the following channels:
